December 2019

December Greetings to our Mann Students and Families,

Thank you parents for your students and all the gifts and talents that they bring to school.

December is a month for “kindness” to be front and center. We look forward to students demonstrating good character by being kind and appreciative with peers, celebrating good outcomes at school and through the giving and receiving of constructive words and actions toward one another.

Make note of the following:

  • Saturday, December 7 Choir participates at the Lakewood Tree Lighting Ceremony
  • Choir/Royal Blue visit to VA Hospice Care, December 13
  • Choir Holiday Choral, December 17, 7 p.m.
  • Band/Orchestra Holiday concert, December 19, 7 p.m.
  • Band/Orchestra/Choir Seattle Center concert field trip, December 20

At Mann we are intentional with our students making connections with short term academic goals while in middle school, and the longer term educational and career goals they have for their futures. When students better understand why school is important we see students demonstrating their best selves and best work at all grade levels.

Ideas for December gift-giving to your student are books that have values based themes; they provide great 4 Pillar learning and will be good discussion topics for the whole family.

We often underestimate the power of a smile, a kind word or listening ear, all of which have the power to turn a life around.

At Mann we embrace the values for educating all students to be lifelong collaborative learners who demonstrate character and leadership. As educators, we believe ALL students can and will be successful.

"Mann is a place where every day is a great day for learning"
